About Me

I worked at a technical writer for the government and the software industry for mroe than twenty years, and I now focus primarily on my fiction, writing short stories and novels. I have had fiction published in various literary magazines, including Story Quarterly, The Dirty Goat, Room of One's Own, PANK, Forge Journal, Superstition Review, Western Humanities Review, Feminist Studies, and Off Our Backs.

Why do you write?

Every day life and the people in it are the finest fuel ever. I write because when I am writing I am putting my best energy out into the world.

So many: Aimee Bender, Louise Erdrich, Jayne Anne Phillips, Kurt Vonnegut, N. Scott Momaday, Francine Prose. Some favorite books: The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake, Tinkers, Four Corners, The Great Gatsby, on and on...
