Hi Marcelle, thanx for your nice comment on my “Kitchen Knife (n.)” piece. Just as your note popped into my email I was on your Off Island site—looking further to see what another northwest local was doing! Anyway, haven’t had a chance to look at some of your stuff on fictionaut yet but I see a handful of intriguing titles. For the rest of the day tho I’m reading portfolios from my fiction writing students (soooooo painful sometimes—buy, hey, they’re learning, I hope!). Later when I desperately need an escape into good writing I’ll dip into yours. My best. —ed

“Three Dreamers” is a terrific piece. It felt so intimate, as if the reader was there in bed with the couple, and in bed with the dog. That kind of intimacy is hard to attain and you did it with great ecomony. Brava!

Re: your Luna Park affiliation, Robin Hemley et al (via the Univ. of Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program) is starting a new online journal called Defunct that features reviews of all things defunct: cultures, music, literary journals, ideas, technology, etc etc etc. Once it’s up and running, would you be interested in us giving you a holler? The premiere issue is going to be really great (out this spring).
